This notice is provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (“Privacy Code”) and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021. It applies to the website https://www.lan-system.it (the “Website”) and to the data collected while browsing it; it does not apply to other websites that may be reached through links on the Website.

2. Data processed, purposes and legal basis
2.1 Browsing data
During their normal operation, the computer systems running the Website collect certain data whose transmission is inherent in the use of Internet protocols: IP address, date and time of the request, requested resource (URL), request method, server response code, response size, referring page (referrer) and information about the browser and operating system (user agent).
This data is recorded in the server log files and is used solely to ensure the proper functioning and security of the Website, to detect anomalies and abuse and, where necessary, to establish liability in the event of computer crimes against the Website. It is not used to profile users.
Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest in the security and operation of the Website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: up to 12 months, unless further retention is required by the authorities to investigate crimes.
2.2 Website protection
The Website uses a web application firewall (Wordfence plugin) that analyses incoming requests, including the IP address, in order to block attacks and unauthorised access attempts. Data relating to blocked or suspicious requests is stored on the Website’s server for as long as needed for protection (normally no longer than 30 days).
Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest in the security of its systems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
2.3 Data provided voluntarily by the user
No personal data is required to browse the Website. If users contact the controller using the contact details shown on the Website (e-mail, PEC, telephone), the controller collects the sender’s contact details and any other information included in the message, solely in order to reply to the request.
Legal basis: performance of pre-contractual measures or of a contract at the data subject’s request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); compliance with legal obligations, where applicable (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); the controller’s legitimate interest in following up on the requests received (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: for as long as necessary to handle the request and, where a contract is in place, for its duration and for the periods required by law (e.g. tax obligations and limitation periods).
Promotional communications or newsletters, if any, will be sent only with the data subject’s specific consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
3. Cookies
The Website uses only first-party technical cookies that are necessary for its operation. No profiling, advertising or third-party analytics cookies are used. Technical cookies do not require the user’s consent (Art. 122(1) of the Italian Privacy Code).

Users can delete or block cookies at any time through their browser settings; in that case some features of the Website (for example, remembering the selected language) may not work properly.
4. Third-party services and external links
Google Fonts. To display typefaces, the Website uses the Google Fonts service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). To download the fonts, the user’s browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive the IP address and the technical information of the request. Google Fonts does not set cookies. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023).

Links to social networks. The Website contains simple links to the company pages on Facebook and LinkedIn. No buttons or embedded content from these platforms are used: no data is sent to the social networks until the user clicks the link. After clicking, the privacy policies of the respective operators apply.
5. Recipients and place of processing
Data is processed by the controller’s staff, who are authorised and instructed to do so, and may be disclosed to providers of technical and IT services acting as data processors (Art. 28 GDPR); an up-to-date list can be requested using the controller’s contact details. Data is not disseminated.
The server hosting the Website is located at the controller’s premises in Italy. Except as stated for Google Fonts in section 4, data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.
6. Processing methods
Data is processed using IT tools and appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure its security and confidentiality and to prevent loss, unlawful use or unauthorised access. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
7. Rights of the data subject
Under Articles 15–22 GDPR, data subjects may exercise the following rights at any time:
- access to their personal data (Art. 15);
- rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16);
- erasure (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable (Art. 17);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- data portability (Art. 20);
- objection to processing based on the controller’s legitimate interest (Art. 21);
- withdrawal of any consent given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
Requests can be sent to lansystem@lan-system.it or postacert@pec.lan-system.it. Data subjects also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
8. Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated, for example following changes to the Website or to the law. The version in force is always published on this page, together with the date of the last update.
