Today we want to introduce you to one of our new instruments, designed, built and programmed in-house: it is a datalogger for monitoring methane mass consumption. The device was developed to be able to be installed in high explosion hazard environments as it is galvanically isolated from the power supply and equipped with NAMUR pulse input. By measuring the volume of methane and its temperature at the same time, it is possible to calculate the methane mass flow rate and obtain a timely assessment of the energy efficiency of the process. Information is historicized in the datalogger and can be accessed via Ethernet or wifi network using the modbusIP protocol, a 32-bit dual-core processor with 4MB ram and 4MB flash, olte to 32 GB of mass storage and an 11.1 [Wh],capable of supporting additional protocols such as FTP and webserver for interacting with the system remotely even when power is off for maintenance activities.

The five data loggers will monitor the consumption of the two spray booths and two autoclaves within the F5-F28 production line.
